Confession-Addiction to Teen Movies

I have known for some time now that I am addicted to teen movies. All the drama about the nerds, populars, plastics, stoners, vamps, skaters...whatever. LOVE IT!

I have never told anyone about my addiction, but now, I am outing. I love these flicks. Always good for a laugh..completely real, yet unreal. I love a great teen movie. BUT...funny thing, of all my hundred of movies (yes, hundreds...thanks to mom), I don't own a single one! Not one! SAD.

So, I am starting a wish list and hoping that these titles will be worth less or equal to $10. Let the movie collecting begin. I will periodically update this post to let you know which movies I have purchased. Oh, and tell me which one's I am missing.

Oh, a loaded heading...eek! I feel like I just need to do bullet points of my life. Bullet points- now that reminds of the time when a dude was breaking up with me. I decided I wasn't going to let him go without a fight...so, I came home and made a bullet-point list of all the reasons why we should be together. That's right, I am a geek! He appreciated the list and we laugh about it to this day...ah...TFL (tears from laughing). So, Lindsey, what have you been up to...well (let the bullet points begin):

• If you didn't catch on, my company downsized *sniff* but I still get to work with them YAY! So in the meantime, I have been coordinating events for my former boss. If I put her name in this post, then this email will show up on her google alerts, and we can't have her checking up on me ;) I am so glad they decided to have me coordinate events still. That was one of my favorite things about the job. So, that got me thinking...and with the help of a good friend (who was actually the person who hired me at the last job), I started my own business.
  
  
• Kablau Communications was born. That's right, Kablau Communications. All you critics can eat it up for dessert, cause there ain't no changing the name. Other names my company could have been, included:
  
  -Fast Pitch Communications
  -Pinnacle Communications
  -Blue Tongue Communications
  -Blabber Communications, Inc.
  -Over the Noise, Inc.
  -Lemons to Lemonade Communications, Inc.
  -Online Masters, Incorporated (I like it spelled out)
  -Zest for Life Communications
  -SIU Communications (Stands for Stepping Into the Unknown)
  -Blasau Communications
  -Heart, Mind and Soul Communications
  -Creative Juice Communications
  -Jello Consulting and Communications
  
  As you can tell, my creative juices ran out rather quickly. I spouted these names off to some friends, who had the feedback of 'what in the world are you thinking?' After the brainstorm, where I was stuck on the word 'pitch' for a while, I went with Kablau (a nickname I got working at The Summit Group that denotes power, energy and fun)...and you know, I'm sticking to it!
  
  
• Lived in San Diego for 3 weeks. Some emotional things happened at home, so I was able to go home and hang with the bro and family for 3 weeks during Christmas. It was a great time to work on establishing my business and finally taking time to pay off the $50 citation I got in Greece. That's right, I got cited $50 because I purchased the wrong metro pass. Will someone please teach me Greek so that I can read the signs that said that an all-day pass is not inclusive of the ride to the airport? Thanks. It was also great to be with my family during a crazy/emotional time. I am so amazed at my parents capacity to love, heal and learn!
  
  
• Since I wasn't working, I decided to see if I could start school a little early. Yup. School. That thing I haven't done in 4 years. I was accepted to be a non-matriculated student at the University of Utah for the summer, but since I was not working, I thought of how fun it would be to start even earlier. Within two days, I had my schedule all ready to go with non-matric classes. Just so you know, non-matriculated means that I can take up to 3 graduate level classes prior to my being accepted. If I am accepted, then the classes count toward my education. If not, then I took 3 classes I love anyways. So, I started Administrative Theory last night. I am SO excited. My professor rocks and says if we pay him, he will give us matric status ;) J/K.
  
  Just in case you were wondering, it still doesn't matter what kind of backpack you have, what you wear to class, taking notes is still appreciated and accepted, grad classes do have an unprecedented amount of homework (but it's fun because you want to be there), class sizes are smaller, night grad classes last for 3 hours and it doesn't seem long enough, you should still plan on bringing hats, gloves and jackets because you leave campus at night and bringing a laptop to take notes is so not even geeky, but rare.
  
  
• Have a new roommate. Now there are 3 of us. Remember that post about how I have too much crap? Well, I had an extra room for it, but I have since cleared out the room, gone through my crap...kept some of it, but got rid of tons. I finally broke down and said 'good-bye' to over 80 VHS tapes. Yes, I still have a VCR...thank you very much...and buying VHS tapes is actually cheaper then renting...so there you go. Mom, you would be so proud of me.
  
  
• When I hear the word 'Interview', this is what I think about: Hot sweats. Panic. Anxiety. Benefits. Capable. Great Candidate. Does it work the same way as relationships (desperation a stinky cologne)? Smelling the Fear. Smelling Success. Run With It. Coaching. Talking to myself. Not remembering how long to put my mashed potatoes in the microwave. Re-writing, re-editing, re-reading my resume. Writing, re-writing, re-writing, re-writing cover letters. Buying new outfits to wear. You want me...you REALLY want me. Look at what you will miss out on if you don't hire me (hah). I don't need more clothes. Buy clothes....with what money ;) ? Enough said.
  
  
• Connecting my wireless...oh wait, I already told you about that. I guess it was just such a huge victory that I had to tell you all again!
  
  
• Dating...who, what? Ha ha ha ha...oh my side. TFL.
  
  
• Heroes. Don't start the series unless you have time for it. I am addicted and maybe watch it until 2 in the morning.
  
  
• Me time. I have had a lot of time to reflect on my life. Where I have been and where I am going have been at the top of my mind as of late. I can't help but see the Lord's hand in my life through every encounter I have had these last couple months. I am surely being guided. Though some of these 'life circumstances' may seem like stumbling blocks, I sure haven't stumbled. Sure, things aren't the way I expected, but they are so much better. I have done a lot of growing and learning these past few weeks and I am grateful, humble, excited, pleased and completely happy with my life. I look forward and have great hopes for the future. If these hopes are dissapointed, I will move on and forward still knowing that I am guided through everything. All those days I spent worrying about 'what if' don't seem to matter. Worrying is a waste of time. It used to be my favorite companion. Life is good. Life is great.

One other thing I just have to share...I wasn't able to go to Logan this year like I thought I was. My grandparents have been hanging on to my Christmas present for some time now, with a promise that I will make it up to Logan...someday.

After much deliberation on whether or not I would be up in Logan last weekend, my grandparents gave up on me and I received my package in the mail. I already knew what it was- a big block of cheese. I might add, it is the best cheddar EVER. I look forward to this huge block of cheese every year.

As I was putting it in my fridge, I just burst out laughing. I don't know if it was because I caught sight of the post office stamp in my fridge or what...but I just thought to myself, "My grandparents mailed me a block of cheese." I am still laughing. Oh dear. I must be tired. Darn that show Heroes.
